We're looking for wildly talented writers and interns. Want to join our team? Well then, read on:
Writers
Fancy yourself a wordsmith? A culture vulture? A gastronome? Prove it. 7x7.com is looking for superb writers (no PR people, please), ones who are in the know about hip happenings and little-known gems in San Francisco and the Bay Area. We are seeking writers who can conceive a story from pitch to completion in a timely manner, hitting all deadlines. Scribes who are experts in specific fields are great, too.
We pay per post.
To apply: Send an email to edit@7x7.com with "7x7 WRITING GIG" in the subject line, along with a resume, writing samples, and several on-brand pitches that you think would be a good fit.
Please, absolutely no phone calls.
Editorial Interns
Still in school and wanting to jump-start your publishing career with hands-on experience? 7x7 is seeking fantastic interns to start immediately through the end of the fall semester. If you’re in the know about what’s happening all over SF and are a student currently enrolled in classes, you could be a part of our team.
Interns are part of a small editorial team and work very closely with staff. They assist with research, perform critical fact checking duties, produce online posts, help with administrative tasks, and support general editorial assistance. You’ll have a chance to work with both our print and online departments and will be exposed to many different aspects of working in publishing.
7×7 offers three internship cycles: January–June, June–September, and September–December. We’re currently in our September–December cycle and are finding we need extra hands on deck with the multiple issues we’re currently producing. Your internship commitment would begin immediately and end in December, but we may consider current interns to continue on for the following cycle.
The positions require a commitment of 15-20 hours/week on site at our SoMa office. Potential candidates must be enrolled college students living in the Bay Area who will receive course credit for the internship. Our interns must have strong writing, grammatical, and organizational skills. A great sense of how to live life to the best of your ability in The City and greater Bay Area is an added bonus.
To apply: Send an email to David Lytle at editorialinterns@7×7.com with a brief description of why you’d be an excellent intern at 7x7. Also include a resume, a letter of recommendation, and three relevant writing samples in the body of the e-mail.
We look forward to hearing from you!
